What are the top Search Engines?

Today, Google, Yahoo and MSN dominate about 90 percent of all search engine traffic; the other search engines you might encounter are often using the technology of the top three. For example, AOL is using Google technology, as is Earthlink. So, when our clients come to us for search engine optimization and internet marketing services, our primary goal is to get them listed with Google, Yahoo and MSN.

Why is search engine positioning so important?

Attention Interactive generates a tremendous amount of qualified traffic to our clients' web sites. Our clients tell us that our services generate the best return on investment (ROI) they have ever seen in comparison to traditional forms of marketing and advertising (direct mail, print, trade shows). Search engines have a lot of influence over online purchases. When DoubleClick asked online users how they found web sites they purchased from, the following results were compiled:

Jupiter Consumer Survey has found the numbers to be even more amazing – they say that 81 percent of internet users find web sites they are looking for via search engines. And more than 50 percent of experienced online shoppers primarily use search engines when researching where to purchase product or services. Forrester reports that over 80 percent of search engine users find what they are looking for within the first three pages. They also note that sales leads made from keywords and phrase searches are the most qualified and have the highest purchase probability.

It is also important to note that with good SEO, you don't have to chase your customers – they come to you when they are ready and in need of your services. Such interactive medium is impossible with conventional ways of advertising. Knowing specific keywords that your customers are using and being found at the top of search engines for those keywords should be your marketing plan priority.

What are widgets and what is their connection to Online Marketing?

Widgets: From Novelty Application to Revenue Opportunity
Widgets are tiny applications that users opt to download to their desktops or social network pages which were initially created for utility and amusement. As their number has grown, so has their potential to become a significant source of advertising dollars. But while widgets are generating a lot of industry buzz, they have yet to be fully realized as a bona fide revenue stream.
